Roy Pratt MBE - Team Director |

Roy founded the Imps Motorcycle Display Team in 1972. A qualified
motorcycle coach, Roy's role is to train and lead the young people and
staff to present professional quality motorcycle displays. With Roy's
immeasurable energy and enthusiasm he developed the motorcycle-riding
activity of The Hackney Adventure Holiday Project, of which he was also
founder, into The World's premier young people's motorcycle display
team. Roy has taken The Imps to the far reaches of the globe and
continues to inspire not only The Team and staff, but also everyone
that has ever seen one of their shows. As well as leading The Display
Team, Roy has also lead several extreme adventure challenges across the
deserts of Africa with ex-Imps.
With unparalleled levels
of patience and a unique ability to command respect, Roy has worked in
mainstream education for more than thirty years with disaffected
children and those with problems. He is Chair of Governors at one East
London school and pastoral Care Co-coordinator for another.
Prior to founding The Imps, Roy was a regular soldier serving with The
Queens Own Cameron Highlanders and The Royal Military Police. Here he
was introduced to display work and this, combined with his experience
in Scouting and Adventure led activities, resulted in The Imps.
Roy says; The best aspect of The Imps is to see young people achieve
what they believed they could not. It is also a great joy to bring
together suitable adults from various walks of life to make it all
happen.”
